Assessment

Assessment refers to the processes that lead to the judgment of knowledge, understanding, skills and levels of application of a set of concepts and, practices using specific tools contextual to the area or subject of assessment. It is largely applied as an objective mode of benchmarking the learning profile of a learner on certain prescribed norms. It could also be applied and used as a tool to the above purpose with variations in style to examine the higher levels of knowledge, thought architectures, creative and critical thinking, and also in different contexts to meet some defined objectives.

Pedagogy

Pedagogy refers to the methods of imparting knowledge and skills in an educational environment, which includes processes, strategies, interactions and resources that empower learning. It includes  the art and science of teaching and encompasses all theories of learning. It is influenced by the socio-cultural contexts, geo-political ideologies, scientific and technological interventions leading to purposeful articulation of the learning content.

Contemporary Skills

Contemporary Skills refers to the skills that need to be acquired by a teacher in their professional environment, in the areas of knowledge and pedagogy, that would help them to display exemplary performance leading to enhanced quality in their functions. It takes stock of their current learning relating to the developments contributed by research and experience. The area would also cover the concerns and developments in global dynamics, reflecting patterns of effective knowledge transactions, their processing and management. Skills relating to the abilities to deal with differentiated learning would also be an area of assessment in this unit.
